J. Vair Anderson Jewellers is proud to support the Fourth Annual Burnstein Dinner and FUNdraiser benefitting kids with Down Syndrome.
Celebrity emcee Dave Kelly and star auctioneer Sheldon Smithens, of Canadian Pickers fame, will set the tone for a rollicking evening of Scottish entertainment with a uniquely Jewish twist as Calgary’s Beth Tzedec Congregation and Woodridge PREP Centre present the Fourth Annual Robbie Burnstein Dinner and FUNdraiser on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Proceeds will benefit education and outreach at Beth Tzedec and the Woodridge PREP Centre, which supports youth with Down Syndrome and their families.
A Burns Dinner is a traditional celebration of the life and verse of Scottish bard Robert Burns, who lived from 1759 to 1796. Burnstein highlights include a traditional Burns Supper with “kosher Haggis”, a highland-‐inspired gourmet meal, scotch tasting, and fine cigars in a heated cigar tent. Don’t miss performances by the Bow Valley Fiddlers, the Calgary Burns Club Singers and the Calgary Police Service Pipe Band. Ticket holders and sponsors can look forward to limitless laughs and a sea of plaid, as far as the eye can see.
Anything goes from a tartan tie or blouse to full Highland attire which can be rented at discount rates thanks to The Highland Scottish Gift Shoppe, proud supporters of the Burnstein Dinner since its inception.
The Honourary Co-Chair of the Burnstein Dinner is Gerry Wood, President of the Wood Automotive Group. Calgary philanthropist Sam Switzer and his clan have once again stepped up as lead family sponsors. They are joined by lead corporate sponsor ATB Financial and other very generous private and corporate benefactors. J. Vair Anderson Jewellers is very pleased to support this year’s Robbie Burnstein event and urges all of our friends to do the same by purchasing tickets and joining in on the fun.
“With our new focus on children’s charities, old friends and new are stepping up in 2015. We expect another incredibly successful cultural fusion that is fun for adults and puts smiles on the faces of some very deserving children,” promises Burnstein originator and Chair Leonard Seidman.
